First Day of School
Today was Joey's first day of Kindergarten, Cameron's first day of 3rd grade, and Vicky's first day of 6th. I am so sad. My baby is no longer a baby, Cam is a little man, and Vicky is 1 short year away from Jr. High.... JR. HIGH!! WTF? I am so confused, I have no idea how this happened so quickly... Seems like yesterday I was pregnant with Vicky, thinking about when SHE would start kindergarten and how far away that seemed. Now, 11 years later, nothing seems so far away. Time moves so quickly now, I feel like I'm losing it. I miss my babies.

nosebleed
last night heather, the kids and i went to the angel game with the cubscouts. it has been a LONG time since i have sat in section 432. if you don't know where that is, its sorta in right field next to where the pigeons sit. i think the last time i sat there was when i was 10 years old. the only thing i remember from that game is when reggie jackson hit a home run you would hear the crack of the bat when the ball was well on its way over the fence.
the game was fun, a little slow and long and the angels lost. but i think everyone had a good time. afterwards we stopped by mom's house to move a couple of tv's around. when we finally got home we were greeted to a HUGE puddle of water and stickyness in the kitchen. our refrigerator of 4 years decided to die on us. looks like tonight we will be heading to sears in search of a new one. oh joy!

California Love
Besides being an excellent Tupac song, it is a truism. It is nearly 11 pm in lovely OC, CA, and it is a beautiful 76 degrees. We have just returned from an ANAHEIM Angels game, where they lost (OK, got beat down) 3-0 by Oakland, but I still love the Angels. But folks, today I got to experience something amazing... ready? The wave.... it went ALL the way around the stadium... THREE TIMES!
Also, my fridge, it's broken. Which sucks hairy balls.

A Very Important Day Indeed
This morning I decided to take the kids to the OC Fair. I had 55 dollars, but thank goodness my husband realized the faultiness of my thinking and transferred me 100 more, for I spent it all, and could have spent much more, easy. We ate and got unlimited ride bands for the kids, who rode those rides with zeal, including the gravitron, twice, which both times made Joey look like he was in the depths of hell, but which he loved anyways. Afterwards my sister tells me the gravitron is what killed the 4 year old boy in Florida. Anyways, we had a blast, and I gained a quite beautiful, deep red, extremely splotchy sunburn. I have no idea how my particular type of sunburn came about as I had sunscreen everywhere, but I have it nonetheless.
However, none of this made the day Very Important. What did was this... Joseph, my son, my 5 year old last son, lost his first tooth today. A visit from the tooth fairy is in order; she has been summoned, and tonight she will fly in through the magical fairy door that coyotes absolutely cannot get into (the same goes for bad guys) and leave the son a prize, most likely 5 dollars, as that it the standard for first teeth. Congrats to Joey, who incidentally begins kindergarten on Monday. The kids, they're making me old.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
I have now finished the book, and I must say, like the first 5 it was amazing. I am quite sure I will die waiting the years it could take for the last one to come out. So many things are revealed and shock in this one... Poor Chris had to sit and suffer being ignored for 2 days while I read the book, which was 652 pages, and so required as many hours in those 2 days as I could possibly give it. Anyways, I highly recommend it; even for adults.

you walk into a coffee bean and tea leaf and they have quarter machine's on the bathroom doors. wtf? i thought they only had those in LA, not the OC. pretty sad.

More amusing quotes, brought to you by Cameron
This week is CUB SCOUT SAFARI!! day camp, which I am working as an adult volunteer den leader, Vicky is working as a youth volunteer, and Cameron and Joey are attending. It is very draining, but mostly fun. Yesterday Vicky kicked my coffee over, so I spent 8 hours in the 90 degree heat with 150 2nd-4th grade boys, with no coffe, which is paradise if you're Mary Kay LeTourneau, but I, sadly, am not. Today I guarded my coffee like it was my life. Then we went way over in archery and into lunch time and I began to get cranky with my 11 boys who were holding us up from eating because they wouldn't just LOOK AHEAD so we could take our damn picture. Cameron, ever the gentleman, yells at the top of his lungs, "ALRIGHT PEOPLE! My mom's hungry and if she doesn't get her coffee or lunch SHE GETS CRANKY! REMEMBER YESTERDAY?!?! Move it!" Hahahaha. Apparently yesterday was bad because they moved it like someone lit a fire under their asses.
Then we get home and he asks me what's for dinner. I said sheperd's pie, to which, of course, he replied, "I don't like that." I asked what it was then, and he said, (this is so telling of the times and my household) "Lemme see pie." I told his I was making it, and HE says, "OK, then lemme see the BOX!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Gosh my kids are funny.

OH.MY.GOD.
SO. Apparently, there was a need for this commercial we just saw. Which I will get to in a second. If you have kids, or watch Nickelodean for any reason, you may have noticed they have fake commercials in which they hock various comical items, just as a buzzer to sound whenever you get tired, so you will have more hours in the day.
Well this commercial, we could have sworn it was one of these, but it wasn't. This commercial, it was for
urinegone. That's right. URINE/GONE. And you know what? It beats the "leading" urine cleaner. There's a LEADING urine cleaner?? OK. But that's not it. If you call now, they will give you.... wait for it... a special blacklight.... so you can find those pesky urine stains wherever they may be. Some examples shown: kitchen counter, shower WALL, carpet. Come on people, you know URINE need of this. (ok, sorry)

2) strawberry lemonade (see 1)
3) beef jerkey
aw, screw it, EVERYTHING IS CHEAPER when you have a family of 5. AND you can go there for lunch and eat FREEEE! (say like the sit n sleep mattress commercial.) Samples, they too rock.

My youngest son, Joey, comes up to me sitting on the couch and hands me a Hillary Duff CD.
"Is this you, mommy?"
"No. Does it look like me?"
"Yes. Well, a little bit. Is it Hillawy Doof?"
God, is my son cute or what?

I did not create this problem...
And it is not MY job to fix it. Those of you involved, you know who you are. I am sorry I am perceived as such a bitch, but you know what, in this case it is well deserved. SOMEONE behaved very badly, stupidly, immaturely, and you have got to be held accountable. If I am the only one willing to hold you to it, fuck it. I am more than willing to talk if I get an apology, but that has not been forthcoming and it doesn't seem to be in the cards, at least not so far.
I have never, and never would, treat someone the way that you CHOSE to. CHOSE. You made a conscious decision, not the rest of us must deal with the consequences. Be an adult, admit you were wrong and let's move forward. If not, well, I know I'm right here, and so do you.

how much jello can i eat?
So for the past couple of days I have been sick, throat swollen and fever and such, which is SO much fun. More fun is the fact that with this sickness comes my inability to eat normal food. Instead I am doomed to eat like a geriatric; pudding, jello, pudding, jello, jello, pudding. God this is getting old.
UPDATE: Yay for me! I added ENSURE! Variety rocks.

long weekend!!
wow, what an incredible weekend i have had. it started off going to an awesome party in idyllwild with a bunch of friends... great music, great people, great times!! sunday was spent mostly in bed and on the couch in front of the tv. monday was heather's birthday. my mom and cousin jason came over and we all went to the anaheim hills parade to watch heather, cameron and vicky marching for the cubscouts. it was very hot, but pretty fun... afterwards we had a little bbq in honour of heather and then opted to watch napoleon dynamite. i took today off and heather, the kids and i went to downtown disney to finally watch star wars. it was alright, nothing to write home about. afterwards, we walked around and got ice cream. now we are home dreading tomorrow, i am not looking forward to go to work :) oh well, all good things must come to an end.
