Welcome to the "legal" system
Today I found out that there is a registered sex offender who is a parent at my kids' school, and he volunteers here and is on campus on a near daily basis. And apparently, he has rights. He has the right to be on campus and live his life, but I, as a parent, do not have the right to be told he is there. The principal acted in the full capacity she could by suggesting we check the
Megan's Law website. Repeatedly. So we did, and found this out. The police department said he has served his probation, therefor he has every right that we have, but shouldn't he have lost his rights when he chose to commit a violent sexual crime? And why the hell does this man have custody of his 1st grade daughter??

training room

so now that i have become a quasi expert in a/v design we decided to transform our training room into a multimedia training room. the room is used for training, hence the name, but we also have new employee orientation, weekly computer classes among other misc things. when we have computer classes we have to not only bring computers in but run cables so each of these computers can get on the network. it is a huge hassle and by the time we are done its a wonder nobody trips over and hurts themselves, or much worse, breaks a computer. to combat this issue we are putting a network connection and power next to each desk. we are also putting in a projector that will display either the computer presentation or a dvd/vhs video, in high def no less, for new employee orientation because YES new employees need to see how not to cut your hand off trying to use a chainsaw in high definition. in addition to that we are putting 8 speakers into the ceiling so that everyone can hear when the air conditioner is on. all should be pretty cool when it gets done.

Once In A Lifetime
Once in a lifetime, God sends you a way out, a way to redeem yourself, something to help you conquer your demons and open up your heart. And if you somehow manage not to be ready for this miracle, and somehow it gets all turnedupside down, then if you are very, very lucky, you may get a second chance. Both of my miracles came in the form of
this man, and I just want to thank him. Thank you, Chris, for teaching me how to love and showing me that I was worth loving; thanks for the years of laughter, all of our inside jokes (POOL'SHOT!) and even for the tears, because they're all a part of what makes us us, and what makes us so strong. And all of that is what makes life good. We've got 9 crazy years behind us, but the great part is we have so many more ahead of us, so many more memories to make, and so much more to grow, together. Love Ya Babe. I hope everyone gets the chance to experience what we have.

Lost Valley
This past weekend Chris, the boys and I went to Lost Valley Boy Scout camp for the weekend. We were told it would take approximately 2-2.5 hours to get there, but since Chris works with someone very active in scouting and this camp, he asked him about it and was told 4-4.5 hours if you’re lucky. So I, oblivious to all this, have not finished packing or even buying what we need, and instead am spending my Friday morning volunteering in Vicky’s classroom. Chris called my cell about 10:30 and I almost started crying. I left the school and raced to Target, where I apparently bought too much stuff, then raced back home again to pack. Unlike last time, this time I managed to remember everything we all needed.
Picked up the kids from school, dropped off the girls at girl scouts, where Vicky would be spending her weekend because she had Jr. Skills Day Saturday, and then went home to put everything in a pile for Chris, who arrived shortly. After a lot of frustration on Chris’ part with the quantity of what I packed, we got everything in the car and headed out. Traffic was horrible from the second we got on the freeway until we got off it, about 2 hours. We got off in Temecula and went to eat at McDonalds, then started the fun part. We headed up Hwy. 79 past tons of farms and ranches and such.
We saw an amazing rainbow; you could see both sides and where they touched down. It was hazy and sprinkling so the pic isn’t so good. Turned on Chihuahua Valley Road then took that to the dirt road that would ultimately lead us to camp. All we needed were the ability to tell which unmarked dirt road let to camp, and the endurance and courage to stay on the chosen road long enough to get there.
We chose logically, figuring the wider road would be the one to camp and the smaller the private road. We were wrong. After about half a mile the road dead-ended, so we reversed, (lost guy who had asked for help and been reassured this was the right road to camp behind us) and went back to the little road, and began our journey up that one. After bumping, rocking and slamming up this rocky dirt mountain lane for about 20-30 minutes, we finally see a marker saying “Mile 1, Trustworthy”. Chris said oh, that’s Boy Scout writing, this is it. He was, as it turns out, correct, but still, I was not all that reassured. We had been told it was 11 miles up the road, so we had some time to be traveling up this road. It must have been how the pioneers felt, traveling in horse-drawn wagons across uncharted country, bumping along at the slowest pace. At any rate, we did make it after over an hour, through completely
burnt out forest and felled trees due to beetle bark infestation. It was stunning scenery, straight out of some Halloween movie that you don’t want to be stuck in.
We got there, checked in, and headed to our campsite, where we had reserved a cabin. I couldn’t find an open cabin so I asked where to go and was told we were moving sites to the other side, which was fine with us but sucked for those who had already unpacked. Got in
our cabin, which had
4 bunk beds and a heater and electricity, and set up. Having the cabin was the best thing ever, it was very cold, very windy, and wet at times, and with the cabin we were warm, dry, and able to watch DVD’s and make coffee. YAY! First night was basically just socializing and we were in bed by 10, although I was awoken around 11 by our den le

lost valley
this weekend heather, cameron, joey and myself headed out to the middle of nowhere to go camping with cameron's cubscout troop. vicky had a girlscout event to go to so she stayed with a friend. my plan was to take off around 4 get home pack up the car and be on our way by 4:30. we have done a lot of work for lost valley, the camp we were going to, so i called andy to ask him how long it would take to get there. i was thinking 2 - 2 1/2 hours tops, um no i was WAY off. andy said 4 hours with no traffic. wtf, 4 hours? i am not going to vegas!!! well needless to say we left about 3 because he said we did not want to be driving in the dark(the last hour or so is a dirt road). so we got on the road, filled up the gas tank and headed out. as soon as we got on the 91 i knew it was going to be a LONG trip. it took about 45 minutes just to get to corona, which usually takes about 10 minutes. the traffic didn't let up at all down the 15 but we finally arrived atthe 79, in temecula. they told us to get something to eat there because there was nothing else around so we stopped and ate at mcdonalds.
we got back on the road and drove up the 79 for about an hour when we got to chihuahua road, ok we thought, we were making good time. we did see one of the most amazing rainbows ever, this picture doesn't give it justice but it was incredible. finally we came to the dirt road that we were supposed to take. only problem was there were no signs and you could go two ways. of course we pick the road that was the biggest, mistake, we traveled for about 10 minutes hitting a dead end. going back we choose the second road and omg we need 4 wheel drive. i have never gone off-roading before in my life but here we were bouncing around on this rocky, bumpy, hilly road. we went for what seemed like an hour and we saw the mile one marker. heather and i both look at eachother, omg we have 10 more miles of this!?!?!
we finally arrived at camp and my car was in one piece, but just barely. it was squeaking pretty bad but we were there! we checked in got our cabin, yes we were very smart to get a cabin since it was raining and the weather was about 33 degrees, unpacked and turned the heater all the way up. the first night not much went on, we talked with everyone that was there and then went in about 8pm. i, being the geek that i am, brought my computer and some dvd's so we all layed in our bunkbeds and fell asleep to the incredibles. cameron woke up about 5am having to go to the bathroom, as he was walking to the bathroom one of his friends was up so the two of them started playing, yelling and laughing, waking everybody else up. damn kids!
for breakfast we had pancakes, eggs and bacon that the troop made. afterwards everybody got ready and we headed out for our first hike to the archery range. absolutely nobody had any clue where we were going so we walked in a huge circle finally making it. this was probably one of the best parts of the whole trip. the first go around i helped joey, well i tried to help him but since i knew no more then he did we had to have the girl help us both. cameron did it by himself and the first 5 that he shot didn't hit the target. upset he tried again, the next 5 he shot he got 3 out of 5. joey and i did the same on the second try. joey was a little upset with me though, in his words i helped him to much. heather tried it as well, but she had the camera so i couldn't get any pictures of her.
after archery we walked over

1st rule of a bbq
check the propane!!! tonight my mom came over for dinner. heather bought some huge delicious looking steaks. i warmed up the bbq and threw the steaks on. after about 10 minutes i looked at the bbq and there wasn't any smoking coming out of it. thats odd, i thought, and walked over to check it. dammit, the fire is out, after a couple of checks i realize the propane tank is empty. off to savon i go to exchange the propane tank.
when i got to savon the lady told me that they were out. what!? how are you out, i ask, i just walked past them, there must have been 50 in the cage. no we have been out for 2 days, she tells me very rudely, i'll call the manager. when the manager arrived she tells me the same story and again i explained to her that i just walked past them and there were a bunch in there. she tells me that they have been out for a couple of days and were waiting for the new ones to arrive. this all sounded very strange to me so i asked her if she could just check and sure enough the cage was full of them. geez what a freakin hassle!!! i wonder how many people they actually turned away. finally by the time i got back to the bbq the steaks were already cooled. so i had to start over...
finally 30 minutes later we all got to eat. i have learned my lesson, the hard way, check the stupid gas before starting!

CAT 6 Testing
Next week the older 2 kids have CAT-6 testing at school. This happens to matter more than usual because for Vicky, these are the scores used for placement into Jr. High, and for Cameron, this is his chance at redemption, because he's been so lazy and stubborn lately that his scores are actually lower than in the end of 1st grade. GRRRR. So I went to the teacher supply store today and I bought them each a grade-appropriate practice book, for a whopping rip-off of 43 dollars, and got home and made them both sit down and practice. I learned a few things, and here they are:
1. Kids do not read directions. They are too smart for this. Once forced to read the directions they shout "OH OH OH, I KNOW THAT!" and then answer correctly.
2. Somehow they forget that during the comprehension portion of the test, THE STORY IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM TO CHECK!
3. The words and selections on the answer sheet are magic. As soon as the child chooses the correct answer, they all run around and transpose and therefore are inherently evil little marks out to get the child a bad score. Because you KNOW, just like the child does, that THEY DID NOT MARK THAT ONE! THEY SWEAR!!
So, I told them both the most important things they can do on a test are take their time, read ALL the directions and ALL the selections (not just stop at the one the could make sense), and for the love of God, CHECK your answers afterwards, as we all know the magic burns out the 1st time they move and they are just physically unable to do it again.
That said, they both did pretty well. Vicky whipped through 2 entire sections of the book with only a few mistakes, and Cameron kicked ass. He did only portions of 2 sections but he got all the multiplication AND division right, and I just taught him division 5 minutes earlier. If my kids can just relax and READ CAREFULLY, they are going to own this damn test.

She said he knows quite a bit of what he will need to know to exit kindergarten. YAY! We just need to work on his letter formation and how he holds his pencil...

I Love LA
Having been born and bred an LA girl, it’s no surprise that 2 of my 3 favorite places are full of sin and debauchery and crazy people. Those two cities would be Los Angeles and Las Vegas; the third is Kauai, Hawaii. Every time I go to LA, I get all nostalgic, as is to be expected, but also I get this hum, this energy from the city that I somehow will always belong to, in all it’s filthy glory, druggies, crazies, and all. LA is, and always will be, part of me in some way. It’s in the way I do things, the way I see things. That said…
Friday night we left around 5:30, but miraculously there was no traffic, and we arrived at our hotel,
The Farmer’s Daughter, at about 6:30. This is a place I used to walk past all the time and never gave it a thought. It’s directly across the street from the Farmer’s Market and The Grove, on Fairfax between 3rd and Beverly. So we checked in, and went to check out our room, which was very neat,
mirrors everywhere,
wheat field mural, blue ceiling and blue lights making it feel like you are underwater. Great ambiance.
After checking out the room we decided to take a walk to the
Beverly Center, which Chris said (with all the authority someone who has “checked the map” has) was at the most a block away. Hm. OK. I, being the ever omnipotent bitch, very nicely suggested that maybe he was incompetent at reading maps, for this was a route I had trekked many a time, and I knew it to be just a teensy bit further than a block. Fast-forward half a mile and about 20 minutes, we’re there. We walked around the mall looking at all the shops, passing quite a few amusing people (there are always TONS of amusing people in LA), but the best was this one gangsta guy, had to be so fuckin high he was off the radar, walking with that cool sideways gangsta lean, arms swinging, but no, this was not the funniest part. The funniest part, that was his face. He had his eyes squinted and his mouth in this half sneer, head cocked. Chris described it best when he said it was the
Derek Zoolander look. Awesome. After making as many stupid jokes as we could think of and having our day’s comedy at his expense, we headed up to the food court and had cheese steaks, yum. Half a mile back to the hotel.
We got back and rented a movie called
Groove, about underground raves in the early 90’s in San Francisco. These are the raves my sister used to attend, with pigtails wearing hello kitty backpacks and purple hair and glitter and bringing an egg to a map point and all that good stuff us kids that do legal raves will just NEVER get to experience. It was a good movie, but left me wishing I had starting partying younger, say 13?? I missed all the fun raving yo. Damn.
Saturday we went to Melrose. There was some stuff that happened in the AM, but it didn’t bug me enough to blog, so if you wanna know, read
Chris blog. So Chris brought me coffee and we walked around the
Farmer’s Market, then went down to Pan Pacific Park, which is where I used to go swimming as a kid. (Yes, a public pool, and I was happy for even that!) On the way there, a man was asking the parking attendant to Please help him, there was a schizophrenic woman bothering him. Said woman had been idling in her car abo

farmers daughter hotel

this past weekend heather and i went on a mini vacation. we did the whole "hollywood" tourist thing. we left about 4:30 friday afternoon and hit absolutely no traffic, which is very surprising seeing how it was friday and we were going to la. we got to the hotel about 5:30 and checked in. the hotel was pretty cool, you would never know that you were on a major street once you got into the room. it was like we were staying in a barnyard out in the middle of the country, not in the middle of los angeles. the room was completely decorated down to the last detail. there was even a cow skin rug on the floor.
the first night, friday night, heather and i walked down to the beverly center. according to my google map it looked like it was about a block away. heather, growing up in la, laughed at me and said NO WAY! it was about a half a mile, which compared to how much we walked the next day was not bad at all but it certainly wasn't a block away. once we arrived at the mall we walked around looking at the cool shops, very similar to south coast plaza. they had all the high end stores like louis vuitton. we were very much out of place, the crowd was either asian or thugs and you had to travel in a group of 5 or more. pretty funny. we walked past this one group of "thugs" and one of the guys had the derek zoolander look on his face while he walked very slowly sideways swinging his arms, it was all heather and i could do not to laugh. the rest of the weekend all we had to do was imitate the walk and the look and we would fall over laughing. we ate at the mall and then headed back to the room. the lobby had dvd's that you could rent, the only movie that we hadn't seen was groove, a rave movie, so we rented that. it actually wasn't too bad. we then went to sleep, being woken up occasionally by the screaming girls running up and down the stairs outside.
saturday morning we woke up about 9 and took our showers. as i was about to brush my hair i found out heather, my beautiful bride who packed EVERYTHING, forgot to pack my hairbrush and gel. she told me to use her mousse but for some reason the only thing that will work on my hair is my got 2b spiked up. while heather got ready i walked across the street to the farmers market to see if i could find a store that sold it. i couldn't find it anywhere but did find a coffee bean so instead i walked in there and got heather and i some coffee. while waiting for the coffee to be made there was a group of tourists who asked me to take their picture. so while they all posed in front of the store i took it. apparently i must look like a photographer cause EVERYWHERE i go this happens to me ;) after i got the coffee i walked back to get heather who was just finishing up. we drank our coffee then decided to go check out the farmers market and the grove. this place was really cool, kind of like downtown disney meets south coast plaza. we walked around for a little bit then found a pac sun store where i got myself a hat and heather some new sunglasses. we then decided to walk up to melrose and check out the shops up there. since this is heathers old stomping ground she took me through a park that she used to go swimming at. before we got to the park as we were walking through the parking lot we see this guy start freaking out, only in la. he was walking back toward the parking attendant asking for help. "excuse me, can you help me this lady is schizophrenic", he said. great!! the lady then drives away but then throws her car in reverse and jumps out of the car screaming at this guy. heather's instincts kicks in and wants to go help them. thinking she is a calm "third party" she can help them relax. thank god

its friday... finally
tonight heather and i are going on a "mini" vacation. i found this neat hotel in la, on the border of beverly hills. we are staying in the "no tell" suite:
Tucked away in the barn this room is for you lovers and players. Open the door to a copper wet bar set in the wall, a full length mural of a wheat field with a beautiful skyline. Custom bed frame with a mirror above the head rest and 2 mirros in a copper frame above the bed. Get swept away by the romantic blue hue that surrounds the entire room. What happens in this room stays in this room.
should be a lot of fun, if for nothing else to get away from the kids for a couple of days. thanks mom!!!

Vicky's Awards Ceremony
Vicky's school has an awards ceremony this morning, at which Vicky won an award for "Academic Effort", meaning that she was 1% below 2nd honor roll, which is a B average, for the 2nd semester. Now I am happy that she is doing well in school, but she really needs to buckle down and bump herself that extra percent to 2nd honor roll.
Congratulations Vicky for your award!

My almost-kindergardener is almost swimming!
Last night we decided to heat the pool and
take the kids swimming. The older kids, per usual, jumped on in and began their ritual of misbehavior and torture. Joey put on his vest and joined in the fun. We've been meaning to teach Joey how to swim, but last time we tried I scared him so bad he didn't want to be in the water even with his vest on. So imagine my surprise when, `having suggested an nonchalantly as possible, that perhaps he wanted to take off his vest and try just once to swim maybe 1 foot to dad, my youngest son jubilantly agreed. Careful not to display too much emotion, Chris and I calmly said, "Oh, ok then." Fast forward oh, 2 minutes, and my son, previously terrified of water even with flotation devices, is CANNONBALLING into the water, sans vest, AND COMING UP! Upon realizing this small tidbit of information, he screams to his oblivious brother and sister, "YOU COME UP!! ALL BY YOURSELF! IT MAKES YOU!!" And proceeds to cannonball 80 times more, on the other side of the pool, where NOONE is. Lucky for him he also figured out how to sort of doggy paddle to the side. These are the days, folks, the ones burned into your memory for review when your 17 year old pierced gangsta thug son is arrested for GTA while high.
BUT for now... This morning I helped work the kindy registration, and of course, registered Joe too. You're supposed to provide a birth certificate, immunization records, and 2 proof of address, either drivers license, passport, utility bill, or something else official. You would not believe what some people brought in as proof of residence. One lady brought me a thing asking her to buy a new car, basically junk mail, and really honestly expected me to accept it. I almost laughed out loud. People are an endless source of amusement for me what with the incessant stupidity and all.
So July begins the embarkment of my last baby into the public school system. May God have mercy on our souls.

joey learning to swim
yesterday i heated the pool so we could go swimming last night. both vicky and cameron can swim pretty well. cameron pretty much learned at a pool party because he was embarrased to wear his floaties while every other kid could swim. so next thing we know he takes his floaties off and jumps off the diving board. instead of sinking he swam and has been swimming better and better ever since. joey on the other hand has been really scared of the water. we have been trying to get him to learn how to swim for some time but would never allow us to take off of his life vest. for some reason yesterday when we said come on joey lets try it without the vest on he said ok. 10 minutes later he was able to tred water for a pretty good amount of time. then he says to me, dad i wanna do a cannon ball. um, ok... and the rest is history. he got stuck a couple of times swallowed a little to much water but overall his confidence is really good and he can pretty much get to either side of the pool when he needs to. a couple more weeks and i think he will be up there with his brother and sister. he sure was excited.
i have a bunch of cool pictures that i took with the underwater case but forgot the camera at home so i will post them later tonight.
[update: and now the moment we have all been waiting for... the pictures, lots of half heads and legs, haha pretty funny. taking pictures underwater is not the easiest thing to do!]

Disney's California Adventure

Yesterday
I brought the kids to CA Adventure, with the nephews again, except Vicky went with her friend Allison. We stopped at the market first so I could get coffee and we could get some snacks, and my 9 year old nephew bought a lottery scratcher from the machine. Well wouldn't you know it, the little devil won! Only 3 dollars, but still, he won, and so I took the ticket up to the front and got him his 3 dollars.
We ran into Vicky as soon as we got into the park, and so were able to take a picture all together. I gave her her lunch money and we parted ways. The first thing Joey wanted to go on was Soarin' Over California, but the line was way too long so we got a fastpass and went over to the Ragin River raft ride, where we got soaked and had a fabulous time. I was very proud of Joey, he went on all the rides he was tall enough for, including Tower of Terror, which scared him so bad he was visibly shaking. Before you go on they have you watch a Twilight Zone short, where people get on the elevator and lightening strikes and they disappear. So Joey watches ever so intently as the party before us boards the elevator and it leaves, and when it comes back... it opens... and... it's EMPTY! Well t his threw my poor child over the edge. MOM!!! NO!!! THERE WERE PEOPLE IN IT, AND THEY'RE GONE!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I quietly explained it was a trick, and the people got off at the bottom, they did not, in fact, disappear, and herded the boys through the door, where
Joey sat up stick straight and held on to the handles for dear life. But what a trooper, there were no tears, just the intense look and the shaking. When we got off, he said he was very scared and he didn't like the up and down but he liked the ride. My funny guy.
The rest of the day was filled with fun, the bigger boys rode the big roller coaster and Trevor did the Maliboomer while Joey and I went to the bugs land, and then, the Big Mistake. Right before leaving Joey felt sad and begged me to ride the Ferris Wheel. Yes, capitalized. I. Hate. Ferris. Wheels. Regular, puny, stationary ones. The one which was chosen for us to ride (of course I acquiesced, how could I not?) was a ginormous one, with swinging, did you hear me?? SWINGING gondolas. That means they moved back and forth, or rather frontwards diagonal and backwards diagonal, while the damn wheel was turning and going about 70 billion feet in the air.
HO-k. So. Up we go and I am sorta ok even though my nephew is making EXTRA swinging motions and other sorta stuff that is freaking me out. Then, the damn thing tips, I scream, and squeeze my eyes shut to concentrate on stuff like breathing. After a couple minutes I am pretty much crying and my older nephew finally figures out I AM NOT JOKING, I AM IN FULL ON PANIC ATTACK MODE! Also, during the small peeks I took to make sure the kids were sitting, I noticed all the passengers in the gondola ahead staring at me whenever we passed. So, ya, thanks for that.
But I lived, we left, and Allsion came to spend the night along with Trevor. Except she got sick at 10:30 pm, so I took her home. Now today is a new day, and hopefully it will be full of REST. And no ferris wheels the size of tall buildings.

toast or tuna
my son is a bigger freak then i am, i know its hard to believe... i like toast, alot! not just in the morning but anytime, usually the best time is late at night. i have been known to eat a whole loaf of bread all by myself at one sitting. when in was in elementary school i would come home throw 4 pieces of bread in the toaster and pour myself a bowl of cereal, mmmm. anyways, i was starving so i put some bread in the toaster and joey got all excited, what are you cooking dad? he jumped up on the counter and said oh i want some toast!!! toast or tuna! wtf? toast or tuna, where did the tuna part come from? hahaha it was so funny i almost fell over.

DisneyLand
Wow!I had a very fun time at Disneyland yesterday. For the first time,I went on Tom Sawyers island and got to see all the things Tom Sawyer did as a child.I also finally figured out who Hicklberry Finn was,Tom Sawyers best Friend.Out of everyone there at Disneyland,I think Joey was the most excited to be at Tom Sawyers Island. When we were in line for Splash Mountain,my mom met these three girls. They were wearing matching hallertops. We talked to them for the whole way untill we got to the log.The line was really long!! Then my mom took my brothers cousins, and me to eat.It was really good. Then my mom got a call from dad saying he would meet us here.A few rides later,my dad calles he said,"You would never guess what just happened! These three girls came and danced, giggled and ran away! What are the odds of that??" Then my mom looked at me and laphed, and said to my dad,"Were they all wearing matching haltertops???"My dad said,"Yeah, how did you know??" My mom said,"I think they were the girls I met..."and my dad thought my mom was just playing a little joke, but she really wasn't.Then my mom took us to Toontown. There was this dorr that you opened, and lightning would shoot out.Thats were my dad came.As we were leaving,I pointed out the girls. My dad didnt wanna go because those WERE the girls that danced infront of him.The girls were going around doing it infront of random boys.Luckily,I am going to California Adventures tomorrow.I had a great time at Disneyland.

Disneyland, and The Girl Who Takes Pictures With Random Guys (and Me)

Yesterday I took the kids and my nephews Trevor and Austin to Disneyland. We stayed for 9 hours and had a great time (at least I did). We went on quite a few rides, and a couple that my family had never gone on, including Roger Rabbit and Tom Sawyer's Island. Roger Rabbit had a ridiculously long line, and was topped only by Splash Mountain, in which we were queued for almost 2 hours. While standing in line, I noticed that I was beginning to get pink, and I mentioned that we should go back to the car and get some sunscreen. The girls behind me, being of extremely happy minds, offered me (and the 5 kids mind you) their sunscreen. After proceeding to use up half of their surely way too expensively priced sunscreen, we still had a good hour and a half at least to stand in line with them, so we talked.
Anyways, fast forward to 6pm and Chris has come to meet us there. We're in line with no phone service, so he's sitting trying to reach me, and some girls run up to him and do a little dance and run away. When we meet, he tells me about it and jokingly, I ask if they were wearing what those girls were. He says maybe. Then we see them and lo, it was them. Too funny. One girl was running up to random guys and taking pictured with them, so I said, you know, being me and all, "I FEEL LEFT OUT!" The result, my friends is here.

disneyland
this evening after work i met heather, the kids and my two nephews at disneyland. heather had taken them for the day and wanted me to come hang out before it closed. when i got there i decided to take the monorail, which was a mistake, 45 minutes later i arrived in the park. i called and called but could never get ahold of them so i left them a message and sat in front of the castle. while there i must have been asked to take 5 pictures, apparently i looked like a photographer. then a couple of girls came up to me and did a little dance and walked away, very funny, very bizarre. finally got ahold of heather and went and met them in toon town. the kids went on one last ride then we headed home. on our way out heather asked me what the girls where wearing, she had met some girls earlier on splash mountain that were a little weird. the weirdest part we saw the girls again and it was the same ones, pretty funny.
here are the rest of the pics.

daylight savings
i love daylight savings. when i leave work now its still sunny out and have atleast a good hour if not longer to be able to go to the park with the family. with that said i hate the mornings! more so then regular mornings. i have lost an hour of sleep and will NEVER find it again, if you don't know by now sleep is VERY important to me. for whatever reason i could not fall asleep last night, usually i can lay my head down and be out cold. by the time i finally did fall asleep the alarm was going off, i must have hit snooze 20 times before i knew it, it was 6:15. dammit! i guess if it were 2 days ago i would have been early, oh well.

Weekends done right
This weekend we finally got the balance right. Friday night Chris stayed at work to play poker, so after baseball practice the kids and I went to dinner at Islands and then I took them rollerskating. We had a good time, although going from 7-9:30pm on a friday night subjected us to lots of teenage screeching/flirting/full-of-attitude people. We had fun anyways, and got very sore in the process.
Saturday Chris went to work in the morning and went back and forth between our 2 baseball games and buying new couches. Afterwards we came home and hung out for a while, and then in the evening Chris and I went out. We had plans to go see a guy we know spin at a bar, but we left early and decided to kill time by going to Disneyland, and before we knew it it was midnight.
When we first got there we parked at downtown disney, and it was so crowded we parked across the street. Then Chris forgot his wallet and he went back for it while I stayed and listened to the performers. After about 20 minutes he got back, and we went and stood in line for like, 45 minutes. By the time we finally got in it was after 9 pm and so crowded you could barely walk. We went on Pirates of the Carribean, and then tried to go on big thunder mountain. After waiting in line we were next on the train when the guy pushed the wrong button, then looked up panicky and runs over to the rest of the workers. Well he had shut everything down and we were asked to "reverse direction and go out the way we came in." The ride, we were told, would take an hour to reset. Jesus. Oh well, we went along on our night, just playing around and enjoying eachother's company without the kids. Afterwards we went to Denny's for breakfast.
Today Cameron had a birthday party and then we had Bobbie's birthday with the whole fam. All in all, it was a good time, we got to see many members of the family that we (me and the kids at least) don't see all that often.

A day with Cam
Today Joey had school and Vicky went to the beach with her friend, so Cameron and I were alone. We went to get our hair cut, then we went to the mall, bought some clothes, went to subway, and then we went and took our pictures in one of those 2 dollar booths. It was nice to spend alone time with him. Now we're getting ready for baseball, but I am already beat. Maybe I'll get a second wind.

Just wondering...
How my starbucks habit gets so much more expensive during break? Could it be because my one-a-day deal gets bumped to 3-5 a day buying for kids?? $4 a day was bad, $12-$20 a day is SOOOO much worse.
Chris plays poker tonight, my ever-so-manly man, so the kids and I are on our own. Thinking of going rollerskating, but we'll see. Wish me luck!
