Random SHit

So. I bought a huge Costco bag of Twix, Sinckers, 3 Musketeers and Milky Ways, and I am eating them. A LOT of them. I will probably be sick and fat. Today I ventured out of my safety zone, and instead of purchasing my peppermint mocha or tofee nut latte, I bought an Eggnog Chai, which was fucking stupendous. I want to bathe in it. Really. Also, I am ultra-preferred. Not that we didn't already know this. Two days until my ever so hot genious of a husband turns 30. THIRTY. I still remember him turning 21. I tell ya, these are the perks of growing up together, we will share all the milestones. LOve You Baby.

well...

it wasn't the end of the world but it wasn't easy. there are some people who are teachers and i am not one of those persons. for the first 45 minutes i had it under control, by the last 45 minutes i lost complete control of the kids and it was pretty much worthless. they stopped listening, stopped caring. i guess you are a little more enthusiastic about sports when you are older, or maybe just a bigger attention span. anyways, i am glad its over it was good experience but now i realize coaching is not for me. i am good at helping out but i am no teacher. never was i able to be taught, nor can i teach. i just do, if i can't do it i figure out how to do it on my own.

regretting

letting them talk me into helping coach cameron's basketball team. tonight i just got a call from the head coach, he can't make it to practice tomorrow and needs me to run it... hmm, this shall be interesting as i have never run a practice before in my life. yes i have been in MANY practices, while in high school i played varsity ball for 3 years at ayala high school. lets see that was almost 12 years ago lets see if i can channel coach gregory... well wish me luck cause i seriously have no idea what i am doing.

cameron's birthday party

saturday was cameron's birthday party. very fun! the bounce house arrived about 12:30, the thing was massive. not only was it a bounce house but it included a slide as well, yes us adults were gonna have some serious fun once this party was over. the kids started showing up around 1, damn there were a lot of kids :P

about 2:30 the reptile guy showed up. we were a little worried because we hadn't heard from him we were told he needed an hour to set up and would be there at 1:30. there was no need to worry he setup with all of his reptiles and bugs with a few surprises. he took each reptile out and let the kids pet or hold them. its amazing how the kids aren't afraid of these things where the adults were freaking out. ok, just jared, haha...

afterwards cameron opened up his presents where he got pretty much everything under the sun. including after we added it all up $120. sunday night he went to target where he bought even MORE presents for himself. the weekend was a lot of fun although sunday came WAY to fast this morning. 5 more days and i will be turning the big 30, scary but i do have the whole week afterwards to recover :)

here are the pics from the weekend, enjoy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMERON

Today is Cameron's 8th birthday, and it is so hard to believe that it was 8 years ago today I was lying in a hospital bed with my brand new little guy, so tiny and sweet. Now, I no longer have ANY babies, and this one is 8 years old; a true little man, a mini-me, and so incredibely handsome. Cameron is spending tonight with his gramma, and tomorrow we will have his party. I am watching The Wizard of Oz, Jared is asleep, Joey is asleep, Vicky is playing on the computer, and Chris is snoring like a bear. Cam, at least you will sleep tonight. I LOVE YOU!

random news

i did finally book our big bear cabin! we will be in big bear the week before christmas, woohoo! hopefully there will be some snow BUT hopefully it won't be so bad that i have to put chains on the car. that is one thing i do NOT want to have to do. last year we took some skiing lessons. this year i think the kids and heather want to try snowboarding so hopefully we will get a chance to do that.

in other news... both cameron and vicky started basketball. actually all three kids started basketball but joey doesn't start his league until december. cameron and vicky both have practice at the same time at different parks. i took cameron to practice last week and got volunteered to be the assistant coach. yes i said that correctly, i did not volunteer but got volunteered. i don't mind helping out at all especially with basketball because its something i actually know :) but the problem is, at this level, its very demanding of time. they want to practice 3 times a week for an hour and half EACH practice. should make for an interesting week, tonight is the second practice where we will find out the schedule. i am sure its gonna be something like this... tues 6:30pm - 8pm, thurs 6:30pm - 8pm and sat 7:30am -9am. yes i am lucky like that!

heather bought me willy wonka today!! so awesome... she rocks!

damn doctors

the only thing worse than being sick is having to go to the doctor. i have had this sore throat for almost 2 weeks. after reading everything i possibly could on sore throats i figured it was time to make my way to the doctor to get some antibiotics since my immune system sux and is not doing its job.

yesterday i had to take joey to the doctor which ended up being a complete waste of about 2.5 hours. well it turns out today was no different. i waited in the waiting room for about 35 minutes even tho i had an "appointment". while waiting there i did get to brush up on my spanish since the lady next to me would NOT get off her cell phone and talked as loud as she could! i swear i think the people working construction outside could follow along in the conversation. finally they called my name just to put me in a room where i could wait ANOTHER 35 minutes for the stupid doctor to come in and tell me there was nothing he could do. i mean the dude literally shrugged his shoulders and said sorry, i could give you antibiotics but its not going to help. basically told me to get lots of rest, eat well and take a multi vitamin. um, ok, thanks doc you paid how much for you education to tell me something i should do everyday whether or not i am sick? so now i am back at work, still sick...

monday again

the weekends just go by WAY to fast. this past weekend was pretty exciting. friday night we went to the clippers home opener where the clippers annihilated the hawks 92-77. afterwards had a few people back to the house and drank way to much...

saturday i went to work for a little bit while heather and joey went to joey's soccer game. he played exceptionally well! the rest of saturday was spent on the couch very relaxing!

sunday we went to see the speaker junkies perform at:

Remix Magazine and partners presented three FREE days of technology master classes, panels, demos and clinics about music production and performance for electronic and urban-music producers, engineers, musicians and DJs. The Remix Hotel offers exposure to and training on the hottest products available for the production and performance markets.

it was awesome the kids got to play on the keyboards and turntables. we also saw DJ AM (nicole richie's fiance) and bunny from rabbit in the moon. unfortunetly right before the speaker junkies went on joey fell and hit right below his eye on a chair. he's fine, just has a major black eye**. afterwards we all went to dinner and then home to watch our regular sunday evening shows. as usual monday morning came around WAY to fast now i am stuck in meetings all day.

i posted a bunch of pictures, check em out.

**when heather took joey to school this morning the teacher kinda freaked out and couldn't believe we didn't take him to the doctor. she told heather that he could have broken something and his eye could either fall out or drop down a little bit? heather freaking out called me and told me that we needed to take him to the doctor. i left work and picked him up where we spent the next 2 hours waiting for the doctor to say, oh he's fine. he's just gonna be black and blue for a couple of weeks. here joey, want a lollipop? thank god nothing was wrong but what a complete waste of time!

Life Update

Wow, it's been a while, and consequently, a whole lot has happened. Vicky went to 6th grade Outdoor Ed Camp the week of them 24th. From what I hear she had an awesome time, but the pictures have not yet caught up. I did have them processed to a disk, so eventually I will get them up. The Saturday before she left we decided to take the kids out to Medieval Times. I had a few pina coladas and we had an awesome time, even though our knight, the yellow, lost. (Because he was the cutest.) Look and see. That same week was the week Theresa and I ran the bookfair, with fair success I think. I also took a few pictures of that, which are somewhere lost in cyber-space. When I find them, they will be here too. As will numbers when I know how much we made. On Saturday the 29th Chris and I and some friends went to Monster Massive, a Halloween rave in LA. We had a blast, and looked cute as hell too. See? How about now? Look Again. See I told you. Friday we went to the Clippers game with Jared and Kat, then came home and had the pleasure of a visit from Vinh. Yesterday was a mostly lazy day, Vicky and Cameron went to play at their friends houses and Joey had Brock and Nathan over. Today we brought the kids, along with Jason and Abbey, to Hollywood to see the Speaker Junkies perform, which was fun; however, Joey fell off a stool and smacked his eye, hard. He now has a huge bubble under his eye. Afterwards, we went to dinner at Fridays and all ate too much. I am now home, watching last week's Grey's Anantomy and crying my eyes out. This week should be largely uneventful, until Friday. Friday is Cameron's birtday, and Saturday is his party. Then the next week is Chris' birthday, and Chris' party. Here's to living through the next two weeks.
