The Book Fair, the Missing Jersey and the mother.
You know how when things go wrong, they go Wrong? We for me things are Wrong right now. I am co-chair for the Book Fair at the boys' school; book fair is next week and we are scrambling like eggs to get this done... It really is so much harder than you would ever guess. So I am taking off 3 days from work next week to make sure this is covered, and thank goodness my boss is so awesome... Then I found out tomorrow my daughter has an awards ceremony and my co-chair needs help to set up all the books that came in early, so apparently tomorrow will be a half day for me as well. In the midst of all this, we still have not found Joey's soccer jersey, which will again be a necessity come saturday, and so my evening isbeing spent ripping through everything in my house praying for the magic elves to lead me to it... If you have positive vibes, please send them to me now...

I just don't get it
I have to say, I really really dislike the majority of people I run into. I know it sounds bad, but seriously, people have somehow forgotten basic manners. A few examples:
1.) Cameron had to be pulled from soccer, which he loves, due to a coach who let his son get away with anything, including, but definitely not limited to, grabbing a candy bar from my hand because "he wanted it", and choking, kicking, pinching, knocking down Cameron during practice. When I asked the coach to seperate them, he put his hand in my face and asked me to get off the field and take my son home. I pulled Cam from the team and wrote to the league president, who informed me that I had "one of the best coaching families in the league" and that "soccer is a physical sport." These quotes, by the way, from Jeff Carlson, president of Canyon Hills Soccer Association. As of yet, my complaint has not been seriously adressed. I have, however, received an email from my other coach, Roarke Andrews (father Richard), informing me that his father told him "I yelled at the kids and he calmly asked me to stay after and talk to him." So there are 3 layers of bullshit which do nothing but tell me A) the father knows he is wrong and is therefor lying, and B)it doesn't matter anyways because the league doesn't want to lose their volunteers. Unfortunately, I will not forget as easily.
2) Friendships- It is abundantly clear to me, the more I pay attention, that people either don't know, or don't care, what the meaning of friendship is. People treat people with such utter disrespect and disregard, and somehow beleive that is a friendship. As you all know I am a music freak, so I will use Whodini's words from the song Friends...
Is a word we use everyday
Most the time we use it in the wrong way
Now you can look the word up, again and again
But the dictionary doesnt know the meaning of friends
And if you ask me, you know, I couldnt be much help
Because A friend is somebody you judge for yourself
Some are ok, and they treat you real cool
But some mistake kindness for bein a fool
We like to be with some, because they're funny
Others come around when they need some money
Some you grew up with, around the way
And you're still real close too this very day
Homeboys through the Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall
And then there's some we wish we never knew at all
And this list goes on, again and again
But these are the people that we call friends...
Me, I call a friend someone you can call on in the middle of the night and they'll listen to you cry; someone you can count on in your darkest moments, and they're there for you, no questions, no judgement. Sometimes I think people haven't lived enough to understand, that all my life experiences have given me something I don't know what to do with, because I hold my friendships (both given and received) so high... if I give you my loyalty, there is nothing attached... but I have yet to meet someone that hold themselves to the same standards, besides my husband.
3) Kids... wow... well, it seems that even basic discipline and manners have gone by the wayside nowadays... now my children can be a handful, but when they are away, you better damn beleive they know better than to do any of THESE things.. open people's doors without knocking... talking back to their friends parents... going to a 3rd persons house to ask for a friend that is there playing, without acknowledging the child whose house it is, as if the first half wasn't bad enough... actually LEAVING to play with the child that came to get you while you are playing with another friend... calling every 45 seconds when you have been repeatedly told they could not talk...
I don't know, maybe I have gotten way too old and didn't realize it, you know, "these damn kids today"... but it's not just kids, it's people... people do not respect people anymore, they don't even respect themselves. What sor

weekend update
Saturday both the boys had soccer games. Cameron's team killed, winning 11-1. Joey's team tied 1-1. Sunday the older 2 had basketball try-outs, and they both did pretty well, so now we will wait and see what teams they get on. Afterwards, the boys went to play at the Macis' house. Vicky has her friend Allison over, but they decided to watch
I am Sam, and Alli left crying. Chris and I played on our respective computers (me playing my new
sims nightlife, natch)and watched
Fever Pitch, which was pretty good. So for the first time in a while (as well as a while to come) we had a mostly relaxed, nice time. Here's to more chill weekends.

tired
how is it possible to be this tired. i am on my second can of redbull and it has had no effect on me what so ever. everytime i close my eyes it burns and is real hard to open them again, i could fall asleep in my chair at any given moment. oh well hopefully i will get my wings soon and start to fly!
this past weekend was a pretty busy one with the kids. orginally we were supposed to go camping with the cubscouts. thankfully the kids busy sports schedule sidelined that idea. both cameron and joey had soccer games on saturday, cam at 10am and joey at 2. we were going to go to the camp after joe's game but then found out vicky and cam had basketball try-outs sunday morning. thank god for sports :)
after the try-outs on sunday the rest of the day was spent watching movies and heather playing her new sims game. last night my mom came by to drop off her car because she will be out of town all next week. stayed up and watched tv till about 11 which in theory isn't very late but apparently i am getting old. i thought the older we got the less sleep we needed? oh well, i guess this is why they invented redbull
