New Year's with Tiesto

Overall new years eve was amazing, although it started off really shitty. Once we got there I put on a jacket and tennis shoes and we walked around a bit. At 8 (when the club opened) I went back to the car and put on my boots and left the jacket. We had VIP tickets so I figured we would get right in. Ya, right.

The people working the doors were stupid and unorganized. They were telling the ENTIRE line of VIP’s we had the wrong tickets and no wristbands, so we couldn’t get in. WTF? We bought VIP tickets to get shuffled around and treated like crap? So we stand there, in the freezing cold, for 45 min, while GENERAL admission is being let in, waiting for them to figure out the difference between their heads and asses.

While we waited Chris ran over to see what he could find out from the other side. I was freezing so two girls in front of me put me between them for body heat. When Chris got back he said they had figured out they were supposed to GIVE us the wristbands and exchange our tickets. This still took quite a while to figure out, so the girl behind me gave me her sweater. So very nice people in line.

Once we finally got in we went up to the gold VIP area, which was very cool, up on a balcony right next to the stage. There were over 5,000 people there, and the dance floor was packed all night. Because we had VIP, we had the balcony with guaranteed tables and seating. So while the general admission was sitting on every available wall and the dance floor was smashed together, we had seats. YAY! We met some very cool people in VIP as well, and had a very cool time. Tiesto was amazing, kept the crowd dancing all night, except for the 20 min Juliette Lewis and the Licks performed some crappy rock shit and completely shut down the club while people booed. She was supposed to do the countdown, but started at 4 instead of 10. Then, thank God, Tiesto came back on.

We left at 3:30 am, having had a wonderful time. This was my first time out on NYE as an adult, so this was an unbelievable 1st time out.
